About La Palma

La Palma is located in the northwest of the Canaries archipelago, a few hundred miles from the coast of north-west Africa. Diving in La Palma offers underwater scenery of volcanic formations, canyons, caves, chimneys, grottos, tunnels, towers, aircraft wrecks and sheer walls. The east, south and west are the main areas for diving in La Palma, with Los Cancajos and Puerto Naos as the most popular spots. The east coast is the shallowest, offering calm conditions perfect for beginners. For experienced divers, the south of the island is a must-see. There is the famous underwater "cemetery" and the fantastic Las Cabras spot – one of the most spectacular canyons in La Palma and on the Canary Islands. The rock wall begins some 100m/330ft aboveground and continues down until it plunges into the ocean. The highlight of the area is dive in volcanic landscapes on untouched dive sites. The most interesting dive sites on La Palma are: Los Sauces, Charco Azúl, Puerto del Trigo, El Canyon, Los Cancajos, The Housereef, Las Cabras, Puerto Naos, Malpique and La Bombilla.
