About Hvar Island

Hvar is the longest island of the Adriatic Sea situated in the southern part of Croatia. Visitors to Hvar will be astonished with the rich arhitecture, cultural attractions, with vast fields of lavender, ancient olive trees and vineyards, as well as with sandy beaches and organized tourism that includes a lively nightlife. Dozens of interesting and unique dive sites give great opportunities for diving. The Adriatic Sea is famous for its crystal clear water, in Hvar visibility is normally 20m/65ft and more. That gives a great opportunity to discover several wrecks, caves, tunnels, underwater mountains, walls and coral reefs. Most popular dive sites The best dive sites to visit here are as follows: spectacular Tatinja walls, Baba reef, Acnhor Wall, a long tunnel Kabal, Amphoras Hvar, underwater mountain Travna (Smočiguzica), a famous Vodnjak Kampanel and Cave in Lucice Bay near Brac Island. When to go to Hvar Island

The island Hvar is famous for its pleasant Mediterranean climate. Scuba diving in Hvar is possible any time of a year. Rain mostly falls in the period from October through January. The high season is from May to October. The average air temperature varies from 9C to 25C/48-77F. Sea temperature is about 14C/57F in winter and 24C/75 in summer. The visibility is good: from 10m to 30m/32-98ft. The currents are generally low. What to see Many species of fish can be found there, among them moray eel, schools of Jacks near Acnhor Wall, octopuses, lobsters, brittle stars, scorpion fish and forkbeard on Baba reef and many others.
