When to go to Port-Louis

Port-Louis is a year-round destination. The period of December through May is considered the dry season, while June through November is considered more humid. The average air temperature in coastal areas of the islands ranges between 22-30C/72-86F and in the inland areas, from 19C/66F to 27C/81F. Scuba diving is possible throughout the year. The average water temperature stays around 29C/84F in the Summer and 26C/79F in the Winter. Average visibility varies between 20-30m/65-98ft.

Port-Louis is a city located on the northwest of Grande-Terre. It is a popular destination among tourists as well as divers. Diving on Port-Louis is available all year long. There are many dive sites that are great for divers of different levels of experience. The sites mostly consist of reefs with a variety of corals, caves, drop-offs, wrecks and an abundant marine life that includes moray eels, lobsters, sea bream, sea turtles, large barracudas, crabs and a variety of colorful reef fish. Some of the popular dive sites include Le Tombant du Port and La Pointe d'Antigues.
