Top-50 dive sites of the world
Located at the northern end of the island, the beach at the Jetty drops straight down to the sea floor, to about 600m/1968ft depth, creating a thrilling wall dive. Until recently this site was widely regarded as one of the best beach dives in the world. The wall features numerous cavities, grottoes, balconies and small recesses. It is covered with colorful soft corals, sea fans and sponges.

When To Go Diving

Even though the diving season lasts all year long, conditions are considered the best from April to November, especially during the summer months of July and August. Water temperature stays at comfortable 26-30C/78-86F throughout the year.

What to see

Among marine species many turtles, clownfish, batfish, bumphead parrot fish, cowfish, schools of jacks and barracuda, whitetip reef sharks, grey sharks and the occasional leopard shark can be seen. Also, manta rays can be spotted occasionally, usually, when currents are stronger. It is a wonderful place for underwater photography and night diving. At night every nook and cranny in the wall can be investigated for shrimp, crabs and other crustaceans, as well as moray eels and parrot fish.
