Agios Pavlos Wall
Agios Pavlos is an exciting dive site located close to the secluded beach of Crete, which has calm waters. It leads to a large wall going all the way down for 50m/164ft covered with rare sponges and bright corals. It would take two dives to explore the whole wall, while the current might cause divers to need to adjust their direction. The bottom is full of enormous rocks and small caves with stalagmites and stalactites and sand on the cave floor.
When To Go Diving
The best time to dive at Agios Pavlos is from June to August, when the air temperature is at its highest (average of 26-28C/79-82F). The water temperature ranges around 22-25C/72-77F during this period.
What to see
This dive site has a variety of marine species, such as octopi, mollusks, shrimp, and lobsters. There are many groupers, mullets, bream, and hakes in the waters around Agios Pavlos. Lucky divers can also spot swordfish, porbeagle sharks, and even dolphins.
