Scuba diving in Catalkoy

Catalkoy is located in northern Cyprus, 15 minutes by car from Kyrenia, on the Mediterranean coast with a lovely backdrop of low-lying mountains. Catalkoy is a rather large town with population about 5000 people. Its coastline consists of 500 meters of exiting virgin beauty. Depths here vary from deep 18 m/59ft to shallow waters where the seafloor is almost on the surface. Currents from the Black and Red Seas fill the waters with a large variety of marine animal species. The Med’s clean, warm water provides divers with great visibility – an average of 100 ft/30m. Experienced divers will find interesting opportunities for wreck diving. The best dive sites are: Plane Wreck, Power Station and Fred Harbor. The abundant sea life in waters off Catalkoy includes groupers, stingrays, wrasse and turtles. If you’re lucky, you may also see octopuses or moray eels.
