The dive site of Baixa Do Frade is a coral reef that stands on a seabed made of volcanic rock and sand. It is found at only 20m/65ft of distance from the shore, located 5km/3mi from the Vila Franca do Campo Marina. This dive site also has good conditions for snorkeling. Moving to the east, as the depth increases, large stingrays are often seen, and divers face the huge rock structure with the two small caves that are home to many species of marine life.

When To Go Diving

The best time to witness the beauty of this dive site is May through October, when the average water temperature is close to 22C/72F. It is also the best time to encounter pelagic fish.

What to see
