AirPort Cavern is a unique dive site in the west of Jamaica that is intended for experienced divers who have completed at least 5 dives before and got the needed certificates. This dive site features a beautiful healthy reef and many swim through cavers at the depth of 39ft/12m. There is a mild to moderate current, which carries numerous skulls of various fish. The most exciting creatures to see at AirPort Cavern are Southern stingrays, mutton snappers, basket and flying gurnards, barracudas, parrotfish, porcupinefish, groupers and many more. The reef is covered with both soft and hard corals of different shapes and colors, which serve as a habitat for many rare sea slugs and other small creatures.

When To Go Diving

AirPort Cavern is situated around Montego Bay area and surrounded by the warm, crystal clear waters of Jamaica. It offers a great diving opportunity throughout the year with the average water temperature fluctuating between 26C/78F and 28C/82F. The air temperature is generally about 26C/79F-29C/84F and allows comfortable diving even without a wetsuit. The water visibility at this dive site can vary between 59ft/18m and 148ft/45m. The best months to come here are July, August and September.
