Airplane Wrecks is one of the dive spots in Potobelo, Panama. The site is interesting for explorers and history buffs. Divers who dive at Airplane Wrecks can examine the remains of a plane that crashed in the surrounding waters. Nowadays the wreck is densely covered with different types of corals and underwater flowers. It became an artificial reef that now houses lots of marine species.

When To Go Diving

Panama has a tropical climate. The seasons are clearly distinct. The driest months are January through April. There are heavy rains from May through November. The average air temperature is 27-30C/80-86F, and the average water temperature is 26-28C/78-82F. Visibility also varies according to the season, and there is usually less visibility from December to April.

What to see

Diving at Airplane Wrecks let divers watch colorful tropical fish, such as yellowtail snapper, blue tangs, sergeant majors, damselfish, and trumpetfish.
