Tug II is a small boat on the west of the island of Mauritius. The depth of this site is from 15m/49ft to the maximum of 20m/65ft. Good water visibility and interesting scenery offer an opportunity for underwater photography.

When To Go Diving

The temperature stays 24-26C/75-78F through the most of the year. The high season is considered from November to mid-January and the whole of May when the temperature is around 26-29C/78-84F. Water temperature throughout the year is around 20-30C/68-86F.

What to see

Tug II is a small boat on the west of the island of Mauritius. It was flooded to form an artificial reef. The pipe is lying separately from the main part of the boat, separated by a cyclone. Lying on the sandy bottom this artificial reef is favored by reef fish including lion fish, scorpion fish, nudibranch, juvenile pinecone fish, trumpet fish, sand eel and many others.

The vessel is not big, it's laying on the sandy bottom and is easy to reach. A lot of fish (scorpion fish, leaf fish, nudibranches, sand garden eels, shells, murray eels...) around.
