The Bunga Bend dive site was named after the nearest village, Bunga, which is located 7km/4mi north of Lungsodaan. The dive site features a beautiful coral reef, which slopes down at a 45-degree angle to a sandy bottom at a depth of around 32m/105ft. At the shallower depths, the reef is covered mostly in sand and individual coral blocks, while at the deeper depths, the reef is densely covered with colorful soft and hard corals and huge gorgonian fans. Closer to the sea bottom there is a series of rocky outcrops.

When To Go Diving

Diving at Bunga Bend is enjoyable throughout the year, because the annual water temperature of 25-30C/77-86F provides comfortable conditions for diving.

What to see

Bunga Bend is mostly known for its amazing smaller creatures, such as colorful gobies, some interesting types of nudibranchs, pygmy sea horses, mantis shrimp, frogfish, ghost pipefish, crabs, blue ribbon eels, and other marine creatures. There are also occasional opportunities to spot whale sharks.
